Jesus Christ ridiculed in Jakarta!

I wonder if there are any Jakarta-based Christian readers of this blog interested in forming a protest group to visit Mangga Dua or Ratu Plaza where Muslims are selling DVD copies of the blasphemous movie "Life of Brian", in which the Lord's son is portrayed as a potty mouthed fornicator and graffitist?

Danes and Kiwis are especially welcome to join this worthy crusade.

bit of a pedant, me - but Brian is not Jesus. It's not a film depicting Jesus at all. It's a satire on the blind following of people who will make a Messiah out of anything. - even an ordinary bloke like Brian.

I take it you know all the DVD retailers personally? In that case, perhaps you can explain the fact that several of the DVD retailers in Ratu Plaza are females who wear hijab?

Also, it appears that you are missing the humour chromosone, judging by your reaction to my satirical blog post. Thanks for playing, congratulations.

True, I did realise that, but what I was trying to express was the fact that Christianity is not immune to satire either, which I think is a good thing. Unfortunately, the first (anonymous) comment is a great example of someone who can't take a joke, which is how the whole circus about the cartoons started in the first place.

For Christ's sake, doesn't anyone have a sense of humour anymore? I know irony and sarcasm can be difficult to get sometimes but please, get me a break.

you know better than to provoke people on this matter. it's a joke and I get it. but, this is indonesia where 90% of the population is both poor and uneducated. And if you are such a fancy liberal minded person, don't get easily offended by people annoyance on your derogatory comments. serves you right.

In that case, 90% of the population won't be able to read this blog, so there's no need to get your knickers in a twist. Again, thanks for playing, or, "come in spinner" as they say in my country.

?!?!fuck our sister and bomb us?!?!?! well i guess your not different then those people who killed in the name of religion! well people like you not supposed to be around. ignorant, differences and discrimanation no matter where you are and will be around as long as human being exist till end of time, if you don't like what you see and experienced why don't you go home, you don't have to stay and provoked people to do things. For EXPAT, jungle people!?!?!?! what do you mean by that?!?! are you people came straight from heaven?!?! hahahaha...r u forgot human evolution?!?! I've been around the world learn things and understand things. thats your problems your not educated, shallow minded. you need to open your hard stone age head and watering your small rotten brain with knowledge, and manners.
about retailers in ratu plaza who sell the dvd...as far as I know they not retailers, they just work there, is not they're responsible. if there a job beter then that, i bet they will not work to sell dvd there! you just believe what you see, but the real problem is more complicated then that. you just want to justified that you are the right one regardless. just to let you know in other part of the world what happened is vice versa, have you seen club 700 on christian tv network?
